How we verify AI and software development companies

Most agency directories print what companies say about themselves. We print what we could check, and show you where and when we checked it.

Checked at the source

We add a company only when its own website confirms its services, where it is based and that it is trading. We do not copy other directories or buy lists.

Partner status checked at the vendor

A Zapier, n8n, HubSpot, Salesforce, Shopify, Microsoft or AWS partner badge appears only when we find the company in that vendor’s own partner directory, with a link to the entry.

Every fact dated

Rates, team size and offices come from the company’s site or are marked as stated by the company. Each listing shows the source page and the date we checked it.

Order explained

Premium companies appear first, each labelled Premium, then every other company by a published quality score. Reviews and scores cannot be bought, and corrections are always free.

Choosing an AI development company

An AI development company designs and builds software that uses artificial intelligence: agents that act inside your tools, assistants that answer from your own documents, chatbots and voice agents, and models trained on your data. The label covers very different companies across the market, from two-person automation studios to global consultancies, so the first job is to match the company to the problem.

If you know what you want built, go straight to AI agent, generative AI or chatbot developers. If the question is where AI fits at all, start with AI consulting firms. If the work is joining up the apps you already pay for, an AI automation agency that specializes in your workflow platform is usually the faster and cheaper solution.

Most current projects are generative AI work: assistants, content generation, search across company documents and AI agents built on large language models. Others are classic machine learning, such as forecasting, risk scoring, recommendations and computer vision, where the quality of your data matters more than the choice of model.

Ask early how a company handles your data: where client data is stored, whether any of it is used to train a model, and how the new system will connect to the software and business systems you already run. Enterprise buyers will usually need security reviews and a named team that stays through deployment and day-to-day operation. A startup or small business may only need a working first version, clear integration with one or two tools and a proper handover, so the right AI development partner looks different for each.

What to ask before you sign

  • A comparable project you can see or try, and a client you can speak to
  • Who owns the code, the prompts and the accounts at the end
  • How accuracy is tested before launch, and what happens when the model is wrong
  • Where your data is stored, who can see it and whether it is used to train AI systems
  • How the integration with your existing business systems will work, and who fixes it when an update breaks it
  • Monthly running costs after launch: hosting, model usage and support
  • Whether the price is fixed for a defined scope or billed on time and materials
Fixed price or time and materials?

Frequently asked questions about AI development companies

What does an AI development company do?

It designs, builds and maintains software that uses AI: agents, chatbots, document search and question answering, predictive models and computer vision. Many also advise on where AI is worth using, handle the integration with your existing systems and data, and help train your team.

What is the difference between an AI agency and an AI automation agency?

An AI development company builds AI software, often custom. An AI automation agency mostly connects the tools you already use with workflow platforms such as n8n, Zapier, Make or Power Automate, adding AI steps along the way. Automation projects are usually smaller and quicker.

How much does AI development cost?

It depends on scope, on the state of your data and on where the company is based. A small automation can cost a few thousand dollars, while a custom AI product or an enterprise system can cost far more, plus monthly model and hosting costs once it is in operation. Listings show minimum project sizes and rates only when the company publishes them or states them to us.

How do I find AI development companies in the USA or another country?

Use the country filter in the search, or open a service category and filter it by country. Each listing shows where the company is headquartered and its other offices where published.

Is a listing a recommendation?

No. A listing means we checked the company against its own website. It is not a review or an endorsement. Ask for references and compare at least three proposals on the same brief.

Does TechBonna sell AI or software services?

No. We do not build software or take a commission. Each listing links to the company’s own website so you can contact it directly.

Should I hire an AI development company or build an in-house team?

An outside company is usually faster for a first project, because it brings a team that has already shipped similar AI solutions. An in-house team makes more sense once AI is central to your product and you need people who know your business and your data every day. Many businesses do both: a development partner builds the first version and trains the staff who will run it.

How do I compare AI development companies?

Send at least three companies the same written brief and compare their proposals side by side: the approach, who will do the work, how they test accuracy, the integration work involved and the running costs after deployment. Save companies to your shortlist as you browse, then open the compare page to see their checked facts together.
